to a better day

of course, it will be better.

there will be a day, someday, when i look back and my last 8 years don't seem like a lie, a long and mean lie.

there will be some day when i can parse my past out into the respective spaces, when i can not just feel tremendous sorrow when i see earrings i wore at my wedding, or pictures of a family holiday, or remember the way he danced in the kitchen or painted in the living room. or whatever else. i mourn the loss of my little family, the way i viewed my life, the man i thought i knew.

it feels like the last decade is a wasteland.

i still search for the way to explain what the end of a marriage feels like. abrupt, unceremonious, ugly. eviscerating.

You don't know me, but I wanted to tell you that this post spoke to me. It is strange, but it was like you wrote about the last decade of my life.

There is hope! We will regain what we have lost in life... I have to believe we will!
